Dutch by nationality, Bart moved from Singapore to the Netherlands to study Biochemistry. He has since, however, made a transition to communication and media, which is what he is studying now.
Since 2024, he has worked with Joanne and Ben on their Short Sea News website. Learning from them both about the business of communication and the individual skills that are needed in communications. He currently helps write and find stories for the website.
In 2025, Bart began the International Bachelor Communication and Media at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He focuses on journalism and international communication. And being a rugby player since he was young, on the weekends, you can find him freezing in a scrum.
